Countdown Friday: Top 10 Fictional Places I’d Probably Visit if it Existed

How’s it going, dukes and duchess? It’s Countdown Friday once more and I’ve got just the thing for you guys. Since in my city, where I live, they are going to celebrate their annual Panagbenga Festival; an annual festival for the blooming of flowers. So in line with that, no, I will not be posting about flowers, let us see fictional places that you would probably visit if it ever existed.

On this list, we will be looking at fictional places, it can be found in books, comics, video games, and others. If the fictional place you’re looking for is not on the list, well, probably I forgot to place it or I just don’t like it.

Let’s start!

10. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Harry Potter)

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

This is a no brainer. If you are surprised that this one is in the list, well, I don’t know what to say. Ever since the Harry Potter series started, like every child in the neighborhood wants to be enrolled in Hogwarts. Everyone wants to be a wizard. Everyone wants to have a piece of the wizardry and witchcraft of Hogwarts. If this place ever existed, probably this one would be a hit. Children would want their parents to enroll them in this school. It has everything; cool cafeteria, dormitories that has weird staircases, dungeons, portraits that are alive, ghosts that roam around, and even professors that teach magic and magic potions. Just be careful, there are creatures that are really dangerous and doesn’t want humans around.

9. Narnia (Chronicles of Narnia)

Next on the list is another mystical place, Narnia! It is ruled by 2 Kings and 2 Queens and also by the Great Aslan. Narnia is one vast land and, man, it sure is one awesome kingdom to rule. Animals talk, mythical creatures such as the griffin and the minotaur exist and magic is used. Well, there are humans there but usually they turn out to be witches or traitorous uncles. But still Narnia is one awesome place to visit. I has vast forests if you want to play hide-and-seek, there are meadows if you want to have a nice picnic under the sun. There are countless of activities you can do in Narnia and not to forget you can also join in the army if you’re up to battling evil monsters.

8. Earth-38 (Supergirl TV Series)

Earth-38, National City

If interdimensional travel is possible and Earth-38 exists, I will probably be it’s constant visitor. It’s not that Supergirl is there, which is really my number one reason, it’s just that Earth-38 is much lighter than Earth-1 where Oliver is too gloomy and Barry cries more often, no offense. If I would have the chance to travel to Earth-38, the first city that I would visit is National City. There are great sites to see. There’s the Catco Worldwide Media building, probably I get to see James Olsen there with Kara or better yet Ms. Cat Grant. Then we get to see the headquarters of the DEO in National City and maybe, just maybe, we get to see Hank Henshaw or J’onn J’onnz himself. And maybe, if you see a robbery in progress, you get to see Supergirl herself. Word of advice, stay on a very safe place to avoid ricochet.

7. Atlantis (Aquaman)

Atlantis, the lost city. The land where Aquaman a.k.a. Arthur Curry rules. It is hidden and in the DC Comics, Atlantis is one of the tourist destinations. It has been referenced in The Flash where Barry ‘s parents are going for their anniversary. It maybe lost but there are great views in Atlantis. Imagine, a place where humans have evolved to suffice their needs. They grew gills so they can breathe under water and also webbed fingers and toes to be more mobile in water. Atlantis is such a great place to stay during summer because first reason, the waters of Atlantis will cool you down; second, you’ll get to see other species of fish and other under water creatures; and lastly, if you’re lucky enough, you get to see Aquaman, the King of Atlantis. Now that is a vacation I want to have.

6. House of Mystery (Constantine)

House of Mystery

While everyone wants to spend to spend their time in Hogwarts and study wizardry and witchcraft, on the other hand, there’s me. I want to spend my time and study exorcism, magic, and the dark arts in the House of Mystery under the supervision of Constantine. Yup, sometimes he may act like an ass but his teaching methods when it comes to magic and the dark arts are educational. Inside the House of Mystery, there are literally like tons of mysteries inside. In Constantine, we get to see often the contents of the house and some parts of it. The items in the house has some mystical properties such as the Helmet of Fate. Then there’s this hall where there are a lot of doors and can lead you to weird and cool places. Although the House of Mystery may seem just an ordinary house but I tell ya, there is more than meets the eye (wait, wrong franchise).

5. Asgard (Thor)

Next on our list is the home of the Norse gods, Asgard. We got to see some parts of Asgard in the MCU especially in Thor and Thor: The Dark World. In here, we get to see gods and noble warriors that fight to protect and guard the nine realms. In here, Odin is known as its king while Thor is next in line. Asgard in connected directly to Bifrost, which is guarded by Heimdall, through a rainbow bridge. As soon as you enter the kingdom, you’ll immediately see the castle where Odin resides. Inside the castle is his thrown and on top of it is his trusty ravens, Hugin and Munin. Also, you get the Viking vibe whenever you are in Asgard ‘cuz their Vikings. I hope in the next Thor we get to see more cool views like do they have McDonald’s in there or any parks.

4. Central City (The Flash)

Central City

Home of the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash. It’s where most metahumans reside. While it may seem an awkward and unsafe place to visit and take your vacay, it’s still one of the sites I want to go to. In this city, you only not get to see methumans and The Flash and Kid Flash, the city offers a great views. They have the coast line where you can sit on the beach and watch the beautiful sunset. Then, if you are cold and want just to sit down and relax, they have CC Jitters where they offer great coffee and you could try their specialty, The Flash, where you get to have coffee with three espresso shots. Then if you’re a scince jock, you can go and visit the S.T.A.R. Labs Museum and see the next generation technology that the laboratories has. And maybe as you’re doing your tour, you can get a glance at Team Flash inside. Then, if you’re famished from the site seeing and tour, you can go in Big Belly Burger and grab some huge meal. Central City maybe just an ordinary city but it can offer you some super and extraordinary activities.

3. Masyaf Castle (Assassin’s Creed)

Masyaf Castle

Although Masyaf exists in reality even the castle, I want to visit the castle in the Assassin’s Creed Universe. In this universe, Masyaf Castle is the first home of the Assassin Brotherhood where they lived and trained for battle. Dangerous? Yes, definitely dangerous. And why do you want to visit it? First thing, when I’m going to visit Masyaf Castle today, it would be empty, like an abandoned warehouse so no worries on Templars or Assassins lurking in the area. Second, I want to pay my respects to the greatest mentor of the Assassins which is Master Assassin Altair Ibn La’Ahad. It would be a great place also to relieve yourself from stress and find solitude for it will be really quiet. Also, it’s a great place for site seeing.

2. Metropolis City (Superman)

Metropolis City

The City of Tomorrow. This is one of the cities I want to visit and given a chance, live in. Yes, I know, it’s a constant target of Superman’s enemies but still, who doesn’t want to live in the city where you can see the Man of Steel kicking the ass of Lex Luthor. In the city, you can get the glance of huge skyscrapers and the park dedicated to the city’s greatest hero, Superman. Although the park is a memorial for the people who died in Zod and Superman’s battle. There may be a few things that you get to see in Metropolis but it sure is a dream to visit such great city and come to think of it, it’s where Superman lives.

1. Gotham City (Batman)

Gotham City

Finally, our number one pick! Gotham City! The city where it looks like you live in noir version of New York. In daylight, Gotham is just plain but when darkness comes, criminals go shaking. They all wish that daylight comes fast for the one thing they fear is out. Yup, you guessed it right, the Dark Knight himself, Batman. During the night, you’ll get to see police patrolling, criminals trying to steal from banks, and you’ll get the chance to see the ole so slick Batmobile. Maybe in your visit, you can get to see the Bat signal being ignited by Commissioner Gordon. Then in your visit, don’t forget to drop by and look at the Wayne Tower. You can even drop by Crime Alley and pay your respect to Thomas and Martha Wayne. Also, if your feeling lucky, you can attend one of Bruce Wayne’s fancy balls and meet prestigious people such as Ferris Boyle, Commissioner Gordon, Lucius Fox, and Alfred Pennyworth. Just don’t go to dark alleys, you may get mugged.

So that’s it for now and I hope you like our countdown for today. Be sure to check other posts and follow me on my social media accounts.
